Who will be the strong competitor to MacBook Pro and MacBook Air? They must be the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2. When it comes to the specifications, both Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 will come with a ultra-high definition 4k pixel resolution. The feature is predicted to allow users to stream 4k videos and other contents on to their tablet. Speaking of HD video, who can win Blu-ray?

Question about Blu-ray playback on Surface Book

“Does anyone know how to play Blu-ray movies on Surface Book? I want to watch some popular movies like Spectre 007, the Revenant, I’ve already searched in Google and some forums, they said I need an external blu-ray player or choose to rip Blu-ray to Surface Book. But I don’t know the specific methods process. So I’m wondering if anyone knows the best solution for my Blu-ray on Surface Book. I just didn’t realize it could be so hard…Please help me, thanks!”

The Answer to Blu-ray playback issue on Surface Book

If you have a Surface Book, no matter it is Surface Book 1 or the new Surface Book 2, you can’t play Blu-ray movies on them in that they lack Blu-ray drive. If you don’t mind, you can purchase a LG Super Drive at your MS Store for $60.00. It worked great to make you play Blu-ray on your Surface Book 2/1.

Another way is to rip and convert Blu-ray to Surface Book 2/1 with a Blu-ray Ripper<Blu-ray Ripper and Copier, what’s the difference?>. You can make a copy of your Blu-ray discs and create the digital version in Surface Book 2/1 supported video then you can stream the video on Surface Book 2/1 with default media player.

Preparations

1. Internet connection
2. An internal or external Blu-ray drive with your Blu-ray disc inserted
3. Blu-ray Ripper app for Windows or Mac

User Comments:

“I bought the full version after testing out the trial. Nice product. I will test it much more extensively now that I have the full version. I have a CUDA enabled video card (GTX 460). I wish the conversion rate was faster. It’s not bad at about 1.7 the length of the movie (h.264 @ 8000kbps), but the benchmark is definitely 1:1 or less than the run time of the movie. Considering the GTX460 is an extremely powerful processor, the conversion rate should be faster. I have tested a lot of blu-ray rippers and this one is the only one that offers to keep the HD audio. As long as this software keeps up with the copyright protections, I’ll be pretty happy. Thanks!” -Matt Hias

”I have just purchased your Bytecopy for VC-1 converting to H264. Well, I was trying to backup my CSI Season 1 Blu-ray to an external hard drive. It was done pretty well, which successfully convert VC-1 m2ts to H264 without any audio track delay. That video format is interlaced, so I switched up “Deinterlacing” in Preference and it did amazingly well!”-Hanan El

”Pavtube ByteCopy seemed to be good at preserving chapters. Picture quality and sound quality was great. I didn’t notice any picture/audio sync problems which I did when using other methods.”-Karoline Karmenya
